PCM 2.x in a boot loop, then error - Thoughts?

I'll start up the car and the PCM will start going through this long boot loop. It usually takes a good 10-15 minutes before it stops. I hear something clicking in the back, like some relay trying to make a connection every time it power cycles.
After 10-15 minutes, the screen appears normal and then eventually displays this: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1399049211 No sound. Oddly enough, after it finishes it's ridiculous cycle, I'll key off and key on the car again, and it works fine. Sound and all. I figure the PCM is just hosed, I've been planning on throwing in a Pioneer or Alpine unit with some creature comforts. Thoughts? |
Do you have an aftermarket device hooked into MOST? IE Dension?
|
Yes, I do have some ipod to FM adapter that is hooked up. Plugs into the aux ports.

Does the device interrupt the MOST circuit or is it just an FM modulator? The warning you are getting is a disruption in the fiber optic circuit.
Most often, if the control module for something like Dension either resets or fails, it will interrupt the circuit and cause the clicking in the rear that you hear and give you the warning. If your iPod module doesn't plug into most, then you have one component in your MOST circuit that is disrupting the fiberoptic connection...either a loose plug, damaged fiberoptic cable, or failing device. (IE it doesn't have to be the PCM unit failing...it could be the amplifier or another component that is hooked up to MOST. This is my best guess. |
