I really need to try this on mine but with almost 900hp, I'm scared as crap to launch by dropping the clutch at 5k rpm. I'm sure I'll feel bold enough one day

new personal best with vbox, 0-60 in 3.06 seconds on 19" street tires
0-100 in 7.09

 

997.1TT 6MT with our AIM1000+ package has cut 2.5s 0-60 on the street. MT in the rear and R888 up front with a little driver mod. Stock gearing.

It has also gone 9.35s 1/4mile on the street from a traffic light with the same setup.

 

 

 

 

@AIM Performance - Drag radials or not, that is awesome, could hit high 2 seconds on street tires.

 

9.35 with that lousy 60'? holy crap can u imagine if it was in the 1.4s?

 

Big improvements with moving to e85. Previous best 3.06 on pump. Lots of wheelspin in first gear on RE-71R street tires. Ambient temp 82*

You guys have some crazy 0-60 times for any tranny let alone manual with our short 1st gear!!

I don't really launch my car (I "feel" for the car), but what advice can you give to get a good launch guys?

I have a Sport Cup 2's (had Nitto NTO1's which dead hooked in 1st, but didn't like the handling feel), ERP Triple with LWFW.

 

FBO, E85 Mafless, RWD 996 TTS

My best was 3.5s (0 rollout) with 2 step 0-60 mph

I think with 1 ft rollout it was 3.2s... not sure how everyone measures this ?

 

Start with RSS Motor Mounts, they almost eliminate wheel hop which can be very damaging to the car. I like my RSS clutch stop too.

I get good results with 30psi in the rear tires, revving to 3500-4000rpm depending on power/grip levels, and releasing the clutch to balance slip vs being too abrupt. If you launch and your rpm drops first, and the picks back up in first gear, that means your launch RPM is too low.

 

very fast, but it'a 8-60 not 0-60! Turn off 1 ft roll out - that's for 1/4 only.
