Best OEM shift knob?
I have this oem carbon shift knob.
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product..._shiftknobsman It looks great, but I find that it doesn't feel "solid". You can kind of "squeeze" the CF in a bit. I think it's just the way these things are made. This may not bother some people but I notice it. Does anyone else feel this way with their shift knobs? Looking for an OEM replacement. I don't have any other alcantara on my car so a shift knob with alcantara won't match. |
i have that knob in my car and it feels solid. i like it alot. the leather one is nice too for fraction of the cost.

Hmm, maybe it can be tightened?

My 2011 mustang had a heavy metal ball shift knob. Best knob ever. The CF porsche knob feels like a flimsy piece of plastic and has no weight.

you know what I'm talking about!
a long time ago (In 2001) when I had my s2000, I had an aluminum shift knob. it felt great I agree.

Yah, if I could get something like this in my Porsche I bet shifting would be a lot more enjoyable. Sad that Ford can get this right on a $30k car and Porsche gives us a hunk of plastic in a $140k car. Are there even any aftermarket knobs for the 911?

This is what I'll be getting. The price is reasonable as well and the fit is spot on.

yeah I bet that rennline knob feels really sweet. thing is, I want something that solid but oem. I'm a stickler for oem unless there are no other options.

Check out the Gemballa short shifter on the avalanche 997. It's exactly what you and I are looking for. There are no similar OEM options that I have seen.

I have this shift knob on my 997 4S and love it. The quality is excellent. For the price I just don't think it can be beat:
http://www.function-first.com/produc...sic-shift-knob If you get the silver shaft with aluminum knob and do silver shift pattern color it looks OEM or at least designed for the car. Very clean, classic minimalist look. IMHO the other colors look a little cheesy. I will say that it is heavier than stock and throws will be a *tiny* bit slower and more deliberate |
I have a black leather oem turbo shift knob for sale. Leather boot and aluminum trim is great shape the leather patches on the knob piece shows a little wear.
