997 turbo S misfire

I just bought a 2011 997 turbo s and it has a misfire under heavy loads. I can really tell it if I put it in 7th and put it to the floor.

The previous owner had Town Porsche in Englewood, NJ check the electrical system and put plugs in it 8k miles ago so I would not think it was a plug issue.

It has no check engine lights or anything. If I drive it normal it is great.

What does the board think is wrong with it?

Did you run it for codes? Could be a bunch of different reasons otherwise and it's all guessing until codes are read.

maybe a code will pop up despite no check engine light.

from personal experience if it's only happening under load, I'd check your fuel pump.

How many miles? Were the plugs and coil packs ever changed?

I pulled one yestrday and it is an 03 and the current is 07 so I think they are orginal.

How do I get the rims off? I tried a 1000+lbs impact and an 8 foot pipe and they just bend pipe and break 3/4 to 1/2 adapters.

The Turbo S models have center locks. There is a Porsche tool attachment that goes in the center and disengages the lock.

Take it to Protosport Inc. in NJ and speak to John or Mike. They specialize in Porsche turbos, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I trust my turbo only to these guys or TPC Racing in MD. Google shows Protosport to be in Pompton Plains, NJ, but I believe they moved a few months ago. Give them a call.

Regardless of who you go to, let us know what the cause was.

Two other SOLID local options are either Eurotech MS or AIM. Both are highly recommended, extremely talented shops.
