Boost can't go higher than 1.7bar?

Hi Guys, below is my mod list on the car. My question is why I can't get the boost to go higher than 1.7bar? Pls advice how can I get it over than that cos I have seen others going above 2bar on gt3076, so is it bcos of the smaller exhaust pipe that I have or there is something wrong with my set up to stop me from boosting higher? I have just add in a 100cell cat into my exhaust system so now there are 2 of them in it, is that the reason why the boost is not going up cos I used to be able to boost at 1.75bar with only 1 cat. Please give your view & advice, thanks in advance.

not to sound rude, but why's it so slow? Mine is Cobb tune, AWE exhaust and AWE intercoolers and I run 11.01's @ 128 all day long

Andy are you tuning yourself or have someone helping?

With these mods your car should be doing 100-200 kmh in sub 5 seconds (easily) at 1.7 bar or more. Your car should make well over 600 whp with those mods.

You either have a boost leak or massive tuning problem.

Chkmgnt59 03-25-2015 12:19 PM

Check the tune. On 1.5 bar, with large VTGs, 860cc injectors, and e85 I'm sitting on 700+ whp, 100-200 sub 5.0 seconds...

With your larger injectors and superior turbos, you should be well beyond me. You have a major mechanical or tuning issue.

Hi Andy, yes it is a pretty slow for your setup.
-Did you check your intake for boost leakage?
-Did you share about your results (power/times) with Emre? He will for sure find and fix your issue(s).

Big tires are slowing you down lol.
Stand alone ecu is very complicated to tune. Who tuned it? Tons of things could be wrong here, this is a very complicated set up. Assume you bought it and didn't mod it yourself. That set up nearly needs a full time mechanic. Yumaverick here on the board can probably help you find someone for the Syvecs.

Thanks for all the time spend to reply to my post.

It was tune by a professional tuner, for my pass experience we will not be able to achieve the hp that u guys always state. Our weather is 35*c all day round the whole year. There maybe a boost leak which I really need to check it out but I don't know the car seem to run fine with no sound or any kind of loose hose but I maybe wrong till I really do a full access check on the engine.

Just a rough guide for everyone to understand, Emre did a almost full set up for my friend 997 turbo which I think included a engine swap that run 10.1 on a 1/4miles. He won 1st place for the drag against a Alpah12 GTR on 2nd place with a 10.3 timing. So I really can't explain why my car hp is so low compare to the oversea forum owner.

35c although hot doesn't make much difference on e85. I am in Las Vegas and we see 40c+ in the summer.

Mit_Boost 03-27-2015 04:25 PM

Any IAT problems and octane should not be an issue, especially since you're using E85 and Meth together.

Somethings gotta be wrong... Even if the dyno is reading VERY low, the 1/4 mile performance doesn't match up. The 100-200 (60-130) is also ~1 second off, especially considering you're using the Syvecs and an ES850R Tip has done 5.06 (Ilhan997).

andym3100k 03-27-2015 07:06 PM

So got to really check on boost leak then, any other part I need to look at it too?

My tuner mention the spring of the wasteage maybe a reason why the boost stay at max 1.64bar no matter how we turn up the boost controller.

Chkmgnt59 03-28-2015 07:40 AM

I'd be less concerned with the boost being stuck at 1.64 and more concerned that the general consensus is that for running 1.64 bar with those turbos, you're 150+ horsepower down from where documented experience says you should be.

Boost leak first. Compression check the engine second.

2 bar on a stock engine? That's too much
