I haven't measured,but no noticeable difference.

There is a huge difference in paddle throw. I would say it's equal to or shorter than the 997.2/991.1 GT3 paddle throw. Plus you get multifunction with the 991.2.

I want to upgrade from 991.1 mf wheel to 991.2 wheel.

How did this go? I have a 991.1 with a MF wheel. How can I upgrade to a smaller 991.2 MF wheel? Is it plug and play or will it need an adapter with extra wiring?

Thanks in advance.

I misread your post. I was thinking 997.2

I guess I had the standard wheel, this is thicker than the stock wheel that came on my 997.1 turbo tiptronic.

What's required to do a GT2RS wheel on a 997.1 6-speed? I have the triangle airbag, so I know I need to get a round one. I don't care about multifunction, I can turn ***** on the PCM .

Anything else required? Seems like all I need is the wheel and airbag.

and PIWIS coding to turn 'multifunction ON' which will activate your horn. if it doesnt work then u will have to swap out the steering wheel module to the newer one.

Wheel... airbag... Adapter module from https://gpsadapter.us/

Possibly programing by Porsche. I did not and didn't have MF in my 997.1

You do not need the Porsche steering wheel module if you have a 997.2

so since I have 997.2 (without MF), all I need is wheel and airbag, and once I plug it all in, it will play nicely? Even the MF?

With the after market adapter from the above link. I did not need any programing to get the MF to work after adding the adapter. The horn, paddles, and airbag will definitely work.

If you are asking about the 997.1 to 997.2 module...I didn't remove everything when I added the 997.2 module. I slid it out the back and left everything in. http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/Caym...heel-swap.html

If you are asking about the MF adapter, this link has a step by step. https://gpsadapter.us/ However, I did it without removing the wheel, and put the MF adapter by the heater button instead of stick it in the 991.2 steering wheel MF module.
