Does rear wing hydraulic's system fail on 997 TT?
I had a 996 TT and fairly early on in the ownership at less than 5k miles these went bad and were replaced under CPO. Does this happen on 997TT? Not sure if it's a different/improved set up?
Considering a future Mod which would be the tech art add on wing or if I can find a rear aero decklid that would be my preference to avoid a mechanism back there that could fail in the future. Who has had this go wrong in a 997tt? It was very pricey on my 996TT. I think around 2k. Thanks, Tom |
Yes, it happens in the 997 also.

I have a friend who has a 997tt and his wing hydraulics failed. He's dealing with this right now...

I figured that might be the case. All the more reason to eliminate that system with a non hydraulic fixed wing like the aero. Does not seem that to many are offered used and new OEM are pricey.

Have you considered the Rennkit eRam wing kit?

Mine has a little seepage but still works..I'm either going to jump the failure alarm and buy the techart type 1 wing ...that wing looks awesome and it looks better down too...
|
Mine is beginning to fail now. Has anyone tried the units that fix the wing in the upper position?

Mine has not failed yet, but I am changing it out for the Rennkit  . I like the way the 4" kit raises the wing up to GT4/GT3 height during high speed run.

What he said! I had it in my 996TT and never looked back. If my 997TT ones fail, I am definitely doing RennKit eRam again. |
