D088 Silicone Boost Hose Install

My experience with the 997.2
I did them last week.
The turbo inlets were impossible for me to slide in without two things;
1. Lower the engine from the rear mounts for 2 inches
2. Spray them with silicone spray as a lube

I was working alone on the car
And honestly, just two bolts and lower the engine a little with a jack... made things a breeze

very simple to lower the engine, makes the job much easier

My exhaust straps were stripped and rusted to ****, so I wasn't going to mess with that.

It's been a while, but I believe when I did it I undid the exhaust straps thinking it was needed, but when I lowered down the engine a bit it turned out it wasn't an issue.
All of this assumes the rear bumper is off, of course.
I may be remembering wrong, though.. it's been a while..

I may be wrong, but I dont think you need to mess with the exhaust straps?

Agree with others too...whether you HAVE to lower the motor or not is irrelevant. For the 5 minutes it takes, you save yourself hours of frustration and busted knuckles etc...

You are correct! The straps hold the mufflers to the engine hanger and the engine hanger lowers with the motor, so they all lower as a unit. So really do not need to mess with the straps unless you want to move the mufflers around.

That's what happened to me
After 1 hour of frustration I said no more and lowered the engine in 5 minutes
