Ams coolers with stock turbos

Id like yo know who's running AMS intercoolers with stock turbo. Seems like my turbo outlet pipes keep popping off because of those stupid plastic clips does anyone have a better solution . I know outlet pipes are made for GT 30 turbos there's got to be a better solution instead of the stupid plastic clips

I popped mine off 1 time as well, this is definitely an opportunity for the AMS kit. Other than that it has been flawless and my intake temps are always low and stable.

I believe forum member Roe fixed this by using the adapter section he cut off the stock hose. I believe that cured the issue for him. If I recall correctly he runs around 22-23psi throughout the entire engine speed range. Maybe he will chime in.

AMS has an update that eliminates the plastic ring. I have not installed mine yet.

good to hear as I was about to order another set of plastic rings for my new Proto VTG upgrades. Thanks for the info!

I broke several of these as well, first one broke when installing them for the first time :D

contact AMS - they have eliminated those rings because of that - We broke 4 of them between installation and dyno tuning my car, they kept popping off and or breaking under load - they really should have been made out of bilet, or a single piece silicon which is what they switched to.

Ams did such a bad job on those clips they should really step up and give those out for free... for the member that has that pic can you please give more info on how much you paid and a better shot of adapter... do you have to get new hose or is it a plastic piece... really pissed right about now..

No charge. Shoot them an email or give them a call. Make sure to use some t-clamps regardless. Don't use they clamps provided.

Ohh Sorry, No adaptor. Hose is now a smaller diameter with a molded ring/lip inside.

Brooklyn boosting Jan 30, 2017 10:44 AM

Brooklyn boosting Jan 30, 2017 10:51 AM

First week of January. Was doing a cat conversion and rings were melted with only a few casual drives.
