New Seats! Now the Heater...
So I got really lucky and got my hands on a brand new pair of black leather sport seats that were sitting in a warehouse for 10 years. These were taken out of a new 911 that was converted to a track car. I plan to hold on to them and eventually replace the leather on my original seats, which are deteriorating, cracking, and doing everything else that would be expected with 40k miles on them.
Now for the question- My car has heated seats, and the replacements seats (donor leather) do not. Do I need to buy new heating elements, or are they part of the foam and completely independent of the leather (i.e. peel off the old leather, put on the new leather, and all done)? I have also heard that these are stitched into the leather, but don't think this is the case. Can anyone confirm/validate my plan?? |
Heating elements are independent of the leather. Peel away!

Awesome. Thanks!!
