Really cool meeting you! There's always a little bit of craziness between schedules but my favorite part of going to the races is meeting all the cool like minded people. Hope to see you out next time.

Gapcam from TX2K19. Full write up coming.

For some reason my video has the audio out of sync, working on that. Spoiler alert: I qualified mid-pack (16 cars between 184 and 179mph, tight field) and lost a tire forcing me to withdraw. Joe from Aim was kicking so much ***... He broke out of the class! That car is damn fast. I wanted a shot at him heads up, but it wasn't to be. . We were actually due up to race in the 2nd round but I only had 3 good tires. Joe and Ryan from AIM actually offered to give me a full set of wheels and tires to race against them. Amazingly good guys. I couldn't accept because I just didn't feel it was right, I didn't want to push that hard... I also didn't like the idea of winning in that circumstance, whatever the chances. I think flat out he's faster than me anyway.

If you're in range, you're crazy if you don't have AIM working on your car. I was impressed when I saw their fleet in Dallas at the half-mile last November, but seeing them in action a second time was even more impressive.

I'm not following here...you had a wheel/tire issue, someone offered you a fix to stay in the competition, and you declined because you didn't want to win in that circumstance? What's wrong with winning on borrowed wheels and tires after having an issue? People do this all the time

peanut gallery wants to see @rix vs @BlackHorseTurbo vs @Swole Powell

that viper you raced is making some good power (mid 1200s). I think its a stock motor Calvo Viper. it used to be owned by a guy up here I believe.

Appreciate the kind words. It's always nice to get out to these events and meet the other guys around the country who push their cars to these levels. Glad to see your car is running so well and I would predict a 200mph 1/2 mile pass is coming this year. When do you plan on going to your next 1/2 mile event?

Yeah, just didn't feel right. I figured Joe had a better chance of winning the whole thing anyway, and I wanted to see a P-Car take it. Plus I was having some trouble with my traction control and had measured tire diameters for my specific tires and it was tuned really tight. There was enough question in my mind with all of those factors it just seemed the right answer was not to push too hard. I figured there was no shame in retiring due to the tire, and I went to tell Joe.

Definitely well-deserved kind words.

Hopefully I'll get there, that's the goal. I think right now the next event is Colorado for Pike's Peak, might be a bit of a stretch to get 200mph up there but I'm looking to add one race (Maybe Indianapolis?) to go for it. There will probably be a November race in Texas again too, but I don't know that I like the surface at Hensley field.

The Viper now belongs to E. Wood, it makes about 1300whp. I got a good start, no slingshot, no funny business. I was part throttle around ~63mph on the go, got good spool and was gone. Good race, he wasn't happy about it but I have no issues saying it was a fair race.

I've built my car for response and drivability over top end, I'm probably faster than Powell or BHT to 150 but over that my design decisions start taking effect. Todd (BHT) just went 206.5 today in the half mile... Picked up 50mph in the back half. Those are monster numbers .

Rix,

I bet you had a blast at TX2k19. I am impressed that you managed to get the car up and running within a very short time frame. I 2nd your decision on retiring the car. Good luck in you coming events and your car is a monster. Drive safely and be well.

P.S. Thank you again for sharing the specific and detailed upgrades and changes that you are doing to your car.

Went to Pike's Peak Airstrip Attack last week. At 8000' ft DA the car was running mid 190s. Last year on the 6564 turbo the most I could get was high 170's/low 180's. I think the best pass was 181mph, so a huge improvement.

The Syvecs guys got a hold of one of my tail cameras and made a video out of it. Thought you guys would enjoy.
