A big Thank You To AIM Performance in NJ
So after much back and fourth with Joe at AIM we finally settled on a bolt on build for my 997. I wanted to keep this car quiet and running pump gas only.
When i purchased the car it had a GIAC tune, AWE Intercoolers and Exhaust (with Cats), Bilstein Damptronics.
Last year i had AIM install a Sachs 2.5 and BBI Slave
Now added is
1000cc injectors
Silicone Intake Tubes
BMS Filter
AMS Y Pipe
Cobb Accessport (I hated the Giac Tune)
Alpha 28's.
I also had the cam's pinned and all coolant pipes replaced and upgraded.
The car made just about 670whp on a conservative pump tune. It's now....a party.

Another big thanks to Joe and AIM. Joe was patient with me and answered all of my questions quickly during the process. I am a very happy customer with a beast of a street car.
Cheers.

alpha 28 and alpha 30 cars are probably the most fun ones out there.

But my biggest gripe.... Was during shifts. There was no shift in the world that was fast enough to avoid the car falling flat on its face between shifts. That was why I really disliked it.

Do you know which version of the alpha 28? ie 2868, 2871, 2873. xona?
Any chance you have the parts list for the coolant pipes that were changed out? I'm going to be going through that soon and will use the Porsche catalog to figure out which hoses to order but it would always be easier to follow someone else's lead!
Do you know roughly how many hours labour it was to remove and reinstall the engine and get both camshafts out for pinning? Did AIM do the pinning or send the camshafts out?

"Do everything you'd do to your car and call me when it's done"
The turbo upgrade originally was going to be a set of 63.5 VTG's but he had the A28's (didn't know there were different models) with less than 500 miles on them for a price i couldn't refuse.

Looking at WGT cars with a Cobb AP I do not see the same behavior in the few logs I have access to. So I am assuming setting the VTG table to 100% turns off that issue.

i'm not sure which ones they are. I honestly didn't know there were options. I did everything though Joe and he just said "You'll need 1000cc injectors for this"....and i said
"ok"
regarding E85....the temptation is there...but i promised wife this car wouldn't be another GTR type build (as she drives it probably more than i do). I don't want to crack the motor open...i want to be able to fill it up at a normal gas station...and i don't want to have to worry about the fuel issue if i take a long trip with it.
So yeah....while a set of rods, E85 and another 150whp would probably be nice....i'm content with the car as it sits. it's a nasty street car...drives pretty much like stock...and i can fill it at any gas station i want.
