Hello BSH

That the solenoid current (or duty cycle) is increasing when applying throttle is what one expects!

But that the front wheels dont engage at all is very weird. Even when the clutch is not engaged you would expect the front wheels to rotate due to the friction of the oil. It seems very unlikely but it looks if there is no mechanical connection between transmission and diff

Some time ago I replaced the front diff seals so i had the front diff removed.
I found this joint between cardan axle and transmission damaged but still functioning. Maybe you can check the joint....

@964hans
I had the car running at idle and in gear, and lifted the car up in the lift and went under to see if the axle from gearbox was rotating, and it was... I dont think there are some joint inside the front diff, only splines...?
Remember dont close your drivers door when car is idling and in gear... Car locked me out... Luckily I found my spare key... damn I hate the automatic door locks this car have...

Unhappy

Yes thats correct, Front Diff has only splines.
Btw: you can disable Automatic door locking if you have the "Sport Chrono Plus package"

I agree on your conclusion that the front clutch is damaged

@964hans: Yes my car have Sport Chrono Plus, but I have not found any where in meny to disable it. If I remeber correctly, it should be found under Info, but I can not find it...

Regarding the front diff, I have found a front diff which they say they have removed from a 997.1 Turbo 480 HP, but the part # it have is 997 349 020 51 and regarding the PET I have looked into, it is from a 997.2...
My front diff should be 997 349 020 50 regarding PET.
Anyone knows if I can use it?

I want 4WD, but mine is not working with no idiot lights in cluster, and no fault codes stored... The only thing I believe to get the PTM fault light triggered, is if the front diff temp sensor are disconnected, solenoid contact disconnected or something wrong with the CAN-bus signal to the PTM.

If you know of someone that want to remove a working front diff, I will buy it. Just remove the tempsensor and let it be Connected to the harness or find a resistor with the correct resistance to simulate normal temp to wire in. Regarding the solenoid, buy a 3-3,5 ohm 50W resistor and wire to the solenoid harness/Connector.
Remove propshaft, remove front axles, (keep the driveshaft flanges with the ABS-ring. You must remove the axle from the flange)
Doing it this way, I dont believe it will trigger any PTM lights/fault codes.

I have now got an used axle and have installed it with new Porsche fluids. Have only driven it in my lift and finally my front wheels are rotating Have not driven it on the road yet, but I hope everything is ok now. I tried some pretty hard accelerating in 2 gear and looked at the front wheel speed vs rear wheel speed in Durametric and it seems they are pretty much the same, which is a good sign showing that the clutch engages.

Hello BSH,

That's very good news!!

I have no idea why you have 2 choices instead of my four.
I must have somewhere info of the Software release used in my car.
I will sent it.
