Which Tuning for a 997 Turbo?

Emre from ESMotor custom tunes Cobb and he has his own flashing platform as well. Either way you are getting similar tuning.

I had great results with Kevin at UMW. What I got from Kevin was a lot of information about the 997 platform in general before even deciding on the tune that fit me best. We did a good bit of data logging and tweaking based on the fuel quality available in my area. In the end I feel I have a very safe modest tune that makes good HP and pulls almost no timing now from fuel detonation/knock. Boost is well above 1 bar now and with no issues at all. These cars are unique given they have different mileage, with different options and add-ons. I don't believe there is a one size fits all solution out there and working with someone as knowable and patient as Keven was a good call for me. I know there are lots of good tuners but i am very happy with my tune.

As others have said, many will have many opinions. Also, most have had only one or maybe 2 different tunes. I would offer that Softronic has been doing this as long or longer than any other tuners. I have had that tune on mine with great performance and ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES for many years. I am sure there are other good ones, but I fully trust Scott at Softronic, and many others on the forum have had the same experience. Just another data point. Not disputing anyone else's opinion.
Best of luck to you...

I would definitely talk to Kevin at UMW. All his tunes are custom tunes and the price is even sometimes lower than many of the off the shelf tunes.
The benefit is obviously the tune will be optimized for any mods you have and other vehicle differences.
Not only that, but he spots issues during the initial logging that can be taken care of prior to the initial tune or also even after the tune so additional adjustments can be made.
For me this was a no brainer.

Cobb AP does logging. For a Protomotive tune you can log using Durametric. I don't know about the others.
Actually, I think you can log any stock ECU with Durametric regardless of tuning platform.

UMW has their own logger which you can purchase or also rent I believe. I personally bought mine so I can log whenever I feel to make sure things are as expected.

The way Softronic works, is you get a cable from them and upload your entire DME file to their server, and also indicate any modifications you have. Scott then tunes based on your OEM file and upgrades and sends a modified (Tuned) file back to you, along with your original file (not a copy). You can then use the same Flashloader to easily switch back and forth any time you like.
Hope that helps.
