Talk me out of a 997.2

So I am sort of thinking of coming back to Porsches. I had a 996tt several years ago. Loves that car. Literally it was a childhood dream. I am (or was) mechanically inclined. In fact I even bought and installed a lift in my garage and did all my own work, including the gt2 hydraulics conversion on the trans when I did my own clutch. I daily drove that car for several years too. Near the end of my ownership, it made 690 rwhp (before the clutch job) when I added pre turbo intakes and dialed the tune a little better.

Fast forward to now. I hate turning wrenches, got rid of my lift, drive a pickup everyday. Don't get me wrong, I like mods, just less of them these days.

Even though my pickup and my wife's Benz only sport ecu tunes... I don't mind a handful of mods and I still like fast cars. My next Porsche will be a toy. 98% sure it will be a 997. I thought about a 997.1 tip and 6spd. But the .2 may fit my "simple mod bug" idea more.

I know there is the 9a1v Mezger debate but I'm not trying to get into that.

Is there something about the .2 that I should know that may turn me away??!

Thanks guys!!

997.2 TTS is simply awesome!!
I absolutely Love mine. Don't mis my 996TT 6MT at all.

10 sec. car stock. Mid 10's with a simple tune / exhaust.

if you don't need a manual tranny, the 997.2 can't be beat for the bang for the buck

997.2 is a great option if you want to scratch the itch for simple mods. Bolt-ons will yield you some great power increases and won't give you the headache of a full build. However, the ceiling for these cars with bolt-ons is around 580 whp (with meth) is 700ish whp. If you have any thoughts of chasing a 4 digit horsepower number with the car, a 997.1 is the way to go. Good luck with your decision. Can't go wrong with any turbo porsche

manual or pdk I think is the question.
Although either will be great, 997.2 TTS PDK prices are approaching 991.1TT
At that point, I would go 991 unless you want a manual.

GL, these are the life choices we all want to be making.

997.2 TTS, forget the 991's they are no longer a drivers car.

Not "proper" photos but one right after I took it from the PO

Thankfully when I got home, we got rid of the crappy 91 and exchanged it for 93.
