First 1/4 mile track outing with my newly acquired 997TT.
Decided since the weather was nice yesterday (low 60s) that I'd hit Test & Tune at Capital Raceway; car is a 2008 6MT with 42k miles, bought the car back in Jan 2018. Only mods are a 3.5" GT2 gmg racing catless but muffled exhaust, CEL is on due to catalytic converter inefficiency 🤣.
Anyways, avoided the water box on everypass, kept tire pressure at stock on my stock sized mpss tires & about a hair less then half tank on 93 octane. PSM off and sport on.
1st pass:
11.7@122mph
1.8 60ft
2nd pass (hot lapped, big nono - got the clutch hot which caused slippage)
13.0@120mph
2.4 60ft 😏
3rd pass, let the car cool down for 35 mins.
12.0@121mph, bogged at launch 🤪
2.0 60ft
4th pass, cool down for 20 mins.
11.6@122mph
1.80 60ft
5th & final pass.
11.54@123mph
1.624 60ft.
I found that this car leaves its best launching at 3000 rpm with a clutch slip. Had a great time, I haven't visited the track as a driver since 2014 (being an adult & parent has it's constraints).

Thanks sir, I think I'm going to get the Sachs 2.5 and put it on the shelf as a preemptive measure. But next mod will be Cobb with custom tunes & try to get the et's into the 11.0 or lower range 🙂

The factory clutch has a really weak pressure plate, relatively speaking. Once you flash the car, the clutch will be short lived...it just isn't up to the task of handling too much more than factory power. While you're installing the clutch, pony up for all the other "while you're in there" stuff as well.

If you’re planning on flashing soon I wouldn’t worry with 02 devices. They’ll just turn motorsports flags on in the ECU and you’ll be rid of the codes. If you want to pass OBD emissions then you’ll need the hardware referenced and the motorsports flags left off since that disables the rear 02 routines.

you can bypass them if your state emission doesnt require OBD readiness, because all it does is just shut the light off.

Will do, next round will be Cobb ap with custom tunes, then clutch & inlet pipes. Then with the advice of prodigymb, I'll pick an intercooler. But everything will be done in stages.

intercoolers in time for summer is definitely a good move!
