997.2 diverter vs blow off

I recently completed a stage 3 upgrade on my 2011 Turbo S (exhaust, intercoolers, Y-pipe, plenum, 3bar map). I am running a Cobb AP off-the-shelf stage 3 map. Now that I am running higher boost, I'm thinking on getting upgraded bypass valves. They are inexpensive and a good DIY install. My reason to upgrade would be...

1. reliability - I have "heard" that the OE ones can break/leak as they age especially with more boost.
2. response - I have "heard" boost will come on quicker and will be more stable
3. sound - I have "heard" you get a little more BOV-type noise

I have searched on this forum but haven't seen much new news. Now that this platform is getting older, hopefully there are some more recent developments/experiences. please share if you know anything.

lastly, Forge now has an Atmospheric Valve Kit along with their tried-and-true recirculating one...

Any experience with this. I would love some more turbo-sounds coming out of the ass-end of my 911.

Firstly, good luck with your car :)

You can use either versions. I've had the recirculating valves before doing the ES1200 build.
If you want more noise you can use the atmospheric version for more noise.

Just one thing to pay attention to, if you're going to install a meth injection kit, I'll recommend not going with the atmospheric version as the jets are usually placed before them.. and there is a chance of meth splash inside the engine bay as they vent.

I'll strongly recommend also a custom tune by Emre from ESMOTOR. To get the most out of you're investment in those mods.

You can refer to my build thread.

Thx for the reply. I hadn’t thought of the meth issue with the atmospheric valves. That could certainly be a dangerous situation.

OP, When you can, post some performance or dyne / power numbers on the new setup if you can.

I have these, http://www.evoms.com/EVOMS_Porsche_D...dv90degblk.htm , give a more of a whoosh sound when letting off throttle, combined with the OE turbo S airbox and a BMC filter. and yes they have one for the 997.2, ordered on the phone (i know the page is for 996tt)
