997 Turbo Advice

Looking for advice on 997 Turbo Values. Dealer where I have an order for new 997 GT3 just offered me a Novermber build for the new Turbo. Seeing as allocation date for GT3s keep slipping, I have no idea when it's going to come in. So was thinking about picking up the turbo for a couple months until GT3 arrives. Was wondering if the demand will still be pretty strong for turbos next spring? Don't mind drivin' it for a while if I don't take a huge depreciation hit. Any opinions appreciated.

Why not keep your 04 cab until the GT3 comes in? You would most likely have to trade it when the new one becomes available due to the sales tax issue. In this state 7.25% of a 125K car is imo significant. I would figue the dealer would screw you.

I would keep it except I leased it, and it expires in December. Going to purchase the gt3 (and maybe turbo also...for a while) because I'm doing between 30+ track days a year now, and want to mod it. That's what's making me switch from the turbo (which I love) to a GT3...because it's a lot better track car (Road courses).

this is a tough call. i think by spring you will still be okay, as demand for the car will be high (warm weather) and the supply probably won't have caught up by then, so you will be able to do okay on resell or trade. much past then, into fall, don't know. the supply/demand ratio might be catching up. i would recommend though you buy a low optioned car with easy color to sell, say a msrp car of 126k or so. you don't want to be trying to sell carbon fiber, $8000 brakes, etc.

easy to sell interior as well, black or grey would be best I think.

Thanks for all the advice. Moot point now. Just got a call from another dealer I was working with, I'm in for sept/oct build for GT3, so no need to get the turbo now :D
