I've made my decision - No TT :(

Not buying the 997 TT.

I came REALLY close to buying a used 997TT with 11,000 miles on it, but the dealer wanted too much for it and wouldn't give me much on my trade-in (dealer's last offer was $126k for the TT and $43k for my trade-in). Thank you ALGAEHUNTER for showing up at the dealer in your Ferrari 360 to give me some advice and evaluate the turbo! Thanks to everyone else on the forum for the advice and pointers (received lots of good feedback via PM).

Though owning a 997TT at 35 years old would be a dream, I'll just be patient and wait for a smoking deal (and/or more money in the bank, hehe). I can buy the car outright, or perhaps finance about $50K of it, but at the end of the day, at this stage of my career, probably makes sense to invest my money, hold tight, and buy later. My 997TT money is now going to be used for real estate on bainbridge or vashon island. :)

I do know this though, the next sports car I own will be a Porshe Turbo - no doubt about it.

I like the homes on Bainbridge, they are huge.

Very wise and mature move that you will not regret. The porsche TT is one of the poorest investments you could possibly make in your life. Invest wisely now, your young. I am 49 years old and i just bought my 1st turbo because I have money that I can start enjoying and still have the bulk of my money working for me (although lately thats not the case). When you can afford to "cut a check" for the total or write it off somehow (I can't) by either leasing or making payments and not have it affect the cash flow that makes your world go around then go for it! If you have to sacrifice or compromise money that should be "growing" hold off! Smart guy! Look for a used one when they take a swan dive in a year or two. You will still have 2 years left on the factory warranty. I hate monthly payments by the way but thats just me and I am stubborn about it!
