I surf a lot of car forums and can tell you, be it the USA, the UK, or somewhere else in the world, this situation is pretty typical for all car manufacturers. After all, they don't exactly keep $130,000 cars laying around in a garage as "loaners" for when stuff like this happens.

I don't blame you for not wanting to take the "c" class Mercedes, but at the very least, they did offer you something better than the typical POS rental car.

I do wish that car manufacturers had some sort of customer retention department to deal with this type of stuff but truth is, I've never heard of a company that took care of their customers without a large fight..

Frankie...sorry to hear you are still having trouble with Porsche!

Personally, I couldn't stomach going out and buying another Porsche after being forced to take a huge loss on my Turbo because of a PORSCHE problem....that put my life at risk. Both Porsche and the **** *** dealer I bought it from new in a depressed Central Connecticut town left me out to rot. Porsche did anything but stand behind their product, and I was forced to deal with their appointed law firm after a short round of talks with the district rep. I had to keep my Turbo for over a year after the fire while the legal proceedings were going on, all the while still paying insurance, property tax and everything as it sat at the dealer wrecked, under a tarp the service manager placed over it(which destroyed the paint after a week...).

Good luck!

Lexus does, I always get a loaner Lexus back for my RX330, sometimes a better one then the one I drive myself

I think the Lexus is an exception though

what mike said is right. A friend of mine had his is350 in for service and had to run some where in the mean time cuz a client called him up and wanted him onsite asap. So he couldnt say no to the client without confirming with lexus if he could get a loaner. Well he explained his situation to lexus about the client, and they gave him an rx350 to run around in, Pretty curteous of em. Seeing as how it was all done in the spur of the moment.

I personally had my is350 in for service and while i was standing around bored, my sales person noticed me looking at other cars and just wondering around; so he excused himself from another client he was with, came up to me asked me how the car was, had a quick chat with me and offered me free lunch and drinks on the house with news papers to read, nows thats service for ya.
