K40 radar/laser

Has anyone installed the K40 radar detector with the laser detector? I was considering installing this in my 997tt. Any thoughts praises or complaints?

This has been beaten to death...just run a search.

I have it and love it...others will push the V1...the k40 is stealthy and has saved me from many tix...plus the blue lights are cool. So...bottom line...in my opinion...if you are looking for a nice integrated solution go k40...if you want to go traditional radar detector (and save some cash along the way) go with the v1...either one will be great.

2k not too bad, considering the prices for interior options from Porsche
(PCM in leather 2,200/CF option(s) 2,700)

I have the complete system installed for 2 months now but still not sure about the reliability of it. I still carry the V-1 for comparison purposes.
The blue lights on the K-40 are very cool and the installation is very stealthy. I love it. Also, K-40 guarantees you against speeding ticket for 1 year from the date of purchase (hope I don't have to claim this).

I've had both, prefer the V1 and most of the reason is cause I drive many cars. Easily can be transfered from car to car and on vacation to vacation- Plus you can't beat the arrows and amount of signals its picking up, thats way cooler than the display on the K40. I carry a spare windshield mount with cord to transfer from car to car.

I got the Escort SRX and V1 in mine. Best of both worlds. I've found that the radar coverage of the SRX to be fairly poor so I use the V1 for that purpose instead.

i have the V1 and would never use anything else - the arrows are what make it and the coverage is 2nd to none and have been shown to be the best except by radarbusters.com who said V1 sucks and wouldnt ya know it, the only radar they dont sell on their site...V1 - go figure

I love the V1 but I am considering the k40 calibre.

Do you guys have the version with the pods or the lights that are custom placed in the gauge cluster?

How is using the remote control?

My remote is fixed to the dash and is a piece of cake...
Am considering getting a V1 for the days when I do some "spirited" driving...can hurt to have both!

My indicator light is mounted up in the left map light area. Very inconspicious and easy to use. My remote unit is mounted down below the PCM.

LED indicator (also changes to red when alerts come through)

SRX head unit

Mute button

Looks nice,

I had an SRX in my NSX. I think the k40 is going to be easier to install since it is wireless.
