I didn't. I saw dyno sheets for a NA 3.6 liter 996. The gains were the same as mine. I can only assume the gains for the 997 would be the same as there aren't any significant engine differences.

No, they were shown to me a while back by the developer. Email suncoast. I'm sure they would be happy to send some over to you. Are mine not good enough?

For those of you who are worried about torque loss below 4k rpm with an exhaust system I have to ask why?? Under WOT conditions or even spirited driving when I make my shifts I am right at 4k rpm or above this. The fact is a tuned exhaust will make more power under the curve under spirited driving conditions. Notice I said "tuned" exhaust, meaning the whole exhaust system. Headers by themselves only add 5-7 rwhp on a NA car, heck AWE even admits this on their website. I actually feel by themselves they probably aren't worth anything...

Dave, what are your impressions of your exhaust with AWE/x51? I've been contemplating that setup and would like to hear your thoughts.

Performance wise I am quite pleased with it as the car above 4k rpm really woke up, it just feels like it's chomping at the bit. Sound wise adding the 200cpi cats is what woke the sound up the most, but on that note it is still a little to subdued for me. For someone who likes a more aggressive sound but doesn't want it to much would love my setup..I am so tempted to putting on my muffler bypass with the headers and cats...

The AWE mufflers by themselves sound good at low rpm, but really don't make much noise above 5k rpm...I added the headers and cats together so can't really comment on just headers and mufflers. All in all I am very pleased with my setup considering it only cost me $2700.00 (Raffi gave me a good deal on his slightly used AWE mufflers)

If the muffler bypass is to loud with the 200 cpi cats then I will just wait until the Borla come out..

Dave,

Thanks for your info. I'm surprised that with those 3 exhaust mods it is not loud enough. Maybe I need to hear these in person bc on the website it sounds pretty loud.

If you really want loud, get some cat bypasses. Obnoxious...

What's weird about the AWE and other mufflers I heard, is that above 5k rpm they loose some of the aggressiveness. The AWE's just purr above that rpm...I like it more raw. Below 5k rpm and the car is quite loud..

The muffler bypass with the 200cpi should make me quite happy. Although I am sure I will be pulled over by the police here. I live in Playa Del Rey which is near the beach near LAX and I got pulled over for noise in my 04 M3 for noise which I thought was ludicrous as there was a Singapore Air 747-400 taking off and made my M3 sound like a humming bird...

What idiocy...

Here comes the debate again: AWE vs Fabspeed. I wish the folks at the respective companies would chime in. For a consumer like me, it's confusing with so many options.

It seems like this is very subjective. I have been contemplating between tubi, awe and fabspeed for around 6 months and still don't have a conclusion (I'm not in a rush either.) I love how the tubi sounds on the champion website, but seems too pricey for me. I think most people recommend AWE, yet people are stating it's not that loud, which seems contrary to what I've heard. Also, others have stated that AWE doesn't sound that great at WOT above 4k rpm. My response to that is why would you want an exhaust that sounds great at half throttle below 4k rpm? Something sounds strange. Can someone give more insight.

Many thanks.
