Info on 2009 model

Apology if some of the info are old news. I know that many have been discussed extensively.

Talked to the GM at the P dealer yesterday.

He said...
Revised front and rear bumper (on most of the net already)
possbile all red tail light
Direct Fuel Injection
Base +25 to 350
S +45 to 390
Bluetooth (standard?)
IPOD/MP3 (optional), but he said he is going to order all the car with this option.
DSG
avail Sep/Oct 08 or Jan 09
may become 998 (he is not sure)

Agreed. I don't see any reason Porsche should bump the already healthy outputs of the base model and the S.

The 09 should receive most all of what was mentioned above except I personally don't think Porsche will boost the power of the new DFI S beyond what the current X51 car is producing...I'd expect the DFI S to produce about 370 hp. Nor would they let the non S base car get within 5 hp of the current S...I'd expect the base 997 w/DFI to produce about 340 hp.

When would Porsche make this kind of announcement "official"? We are thinking about ordering an 08 after the holidays but would hold off if this were true.

That seems like a hefty bump in power for a mid-model facelift.

Nothing definite yet. The information is not available. Especially to the dealers.
