Here's the deal I got on the C2S, thoughts?
Wanna see a cool wheel on red ? I wonder if it fits the C2S . (LOL I had to use the search word "tumble weed" to find it because someone commented how it obstructed the photo. )

Congratulations - hope you enjoy your pruchase. BTW, you asked for "thoughts" - you got some "thoughts" and then you you didn't like the "thoughts" - what did you expect? Everyone is going to have a different opinion - as long as you're OK that's all that matters - not what I think or anyone else.
I think if you're gonna say, hey you can get this car for 50 dollars, I am gonna ask how you know that. I am exaggerating of course here but you get my point.
I want to make an informed decision. I appreciate everyones feedback, and encouragement.
That dealership ought to be able to make it look like new. Don't worry but do tell them .They have experience with this as most dealerships can take an old car and make it look outstanding.
Wet sanding is a process used by body shop detailers which requires an experienced effort. The "wet" sandpaper is extremely fine and it removes the slightest scratch . I am not a detailer but I have owned many black Porsches which require a full detail once per year .
Again --do not worry .
How did it get the swirls ? Usually its from car washes , especially machine with brush , or some dealership summer job attendent who is careless washing cars . On a black car even drying with a towel will make the car look terrible . I use only the softest loofas and absorbers for my car and even with that --I get them here and there .
Wanna see the swirl on mine ? It's on the photo of the vent near the Porsche badge.--but now it's gone and I haven't taken updated pics . http://pictures.aol.com/galleries/yrralis1

That is actually a pretty funny remark.
Let me back up for those following.
I originally was looking at a similarly optioned carmona red, minus sports chronos, plus NAV.
I made an offer of 15% off and they wouldn't do better than 12% off. Coupled with the fact that the car was 2k more at list it was just not gonna work.
Someone happened to wonder on that thread if I was pursuing the guards red in Greenwich. I replied that I was not, although the mere question did raise my awareness of that car.
When the dealer on the carmona red said no to 15% I made the same offer to Greenwich, they accepted.
So that is the story of how my carmona red car became guards red.
But like I said that was a funny retort. Maybe because I can imagine them repainting the car, its a funny image.

This can be done, but it is hard to do, and frankly you are more likely to end up doing it on a very expensively optioned car, which really rules it out for those looking for a basic car without every interior strip painted with the exterior color for $900 per inch of paint, etc
But 20%? I still haven't even heard of anyone who has done 20% or even close on a left over 07.

It's cool, like I said I appreciate people taking time to give feedback, I didn't mean anything by this other than I want to be sure that all feedback is rooted in some element of market values, and not just conjecture.
hey... if the warranty is already running down. it's been titled. you are buying a used car that was purchased by the dealer... not a new car used as a demo. demo's are never titled.
It has not been titled. Titled has a legal meaning, if I buy this car today and sell it tomorrow, when the buyer (if private, or the dealer) do a search on the car's history, it will show *one* owner, not two.
Hence it has not been titled, and hence why its value is greater than that of a used car.
Demos simply mean the car was used by an executive at the dealership, and probably used to test drive at one point. I have done a DME scan, so I know the engine is good to go. That is not the issue.
Hopefully that clears things up.

i'm aware. but the warranty only starts going down when a car has been titled. trust me. have them show you the Warrant and Title reports from Porsche NA, they aren't allowed to by contract with Porsche but they will... it's been titled to them. the ONLY time a warranty starts is after a car is titled.
The warranty starts because they lied to Porsche and said the car was sold. Porsche knows this game and says fine, the warranty is ticking. It has not been titled. I asked if it had been titled and they said it had not. This is a reputable dealer in a major area that cannot afford to lie about such a basic thing. If it was titled they would have said so. That is the whole point of "punched" cars. They are not titled, but their warranties tick down.
What About Certified
Hey guys,
I want to take this opportunity to ask, shouldn't the dealer sell this car as a certified sale, since it's considered used and get two extra years of warranty on the car?
maybe you should ask them to throw it in, to make it a better juicy deal!
See Ya

I like this better. I have Nav and think my Civic Si (3rd car) has a more user friendly sytem than both my Porsche and Mercedes .
The Sport chrono is a must . It doesn't change horsepower or torque but it does offer a different throttle response and on an "S" it also changes the PSM setting to "medium" as opposed to being either on or off .
1) The options look better than the on the Carmona car
2) The Price is good
3) They will get the swirls out
4) The color will be better on resale
5) You mention a tax credit
You did well . I have never seen anyone get better than 15 % at a dealership and I'm on my 7th Porsche .
If you opt out of the stainless tips or sport shifter which I really recommend -- Do get the clear side markers (they'll give them to you and most people forget to ask) .

Thanks for the encouragement. I would like the stainless tips, but I did not think of asking for them until after I made the offer. Hard to ask now don't you think? Seems dishonorable. What do they cost anyway at dealer cost? Sports shifter I will probably do but I want to get used to the car stock first and maybe do it later. I do much prefer the stainless tips though, I don't think Porsche should even make the cars without them, they are such nickel and dimers in this sense
