those wheels must go!

JASCLASS Jun 29, 2004 05:24 AM

Those wheels don't have enough holes. hilarious

ScottW Jun 29, 2004 02:42 PM

Homer: "Hey, what are all these holes?" (points at bullet holes in car hood)
Car salesmen: "These are speed holes. They make the car go faster."
Homer (impressed): "Oh yeah, speed holes."

That looks like a full leather interior... I'm sure that is not the standard interior...

I still think the interior looks way to much like a lexus...

I love the interior... I guess I am in the minority ;)

If the Porsche is crest removed from the steering, will anyone be able to tell that it's a Porsche from the interior?

It's a Toyota sports coupe. Could be a Solaris or Camry.

The air vents are terrible. The double stitching has to go.
I don't like the oblong headlights of the 997. The wider front looks almost like a flatter VW beetle, kinda comical.

I hope they'd skip the 997 for the TT. Perhaps they'd pick a more aggressive front for the 998. The new boxer front is more like it.

You mean like this ? ( Boxster/996 style gauges and at least it has a retractable Sport Chrono watch on top of it's dash when not in use , LOL )

Others copying Porsche, or Porsche copying others?

That Mazda interior does have 986/996 elements, but is that not an example of others copying Porsche, rather than vice versa?

I think the problem some are having with the 997 interior is that it is not original like the 986/996's was. It is Porsche copying Toyota/Mazda/Lexus/whatever rather than the other way around.

For two seconds there I thought you altered the 997 photo with the mazda emblem :)
Yes. The 997 is looking exactly like that.
It's appealing to customers that want a soothing, comfy, safe, quiet, and familiar environment to listen to their elevator music or chatting on their cell phone.
The lexus is a better choice for that type of application.

Porsche needs to find a new designer.

I think the steering wheel is goofy and the center stack is a bit played out but I doubt I'll even notice when I'm driving. I have found that when I really like what I'm driving I won't even turn the radio on. I hope for 85K the Porsche will have this effect on me. Nothings perfect but if they get the motor and suspension right, I'll give them a fair amount of grace in the design department/

Still don;t like the interior... looks like a truck!
