Parts Necessary for OEM NAV install.
What parts do I need to install Navigation on My 997? Is it prewired for the Nav DVD player if I have PCM? Is all I need the Nav unit and antenna?
TIA!

Im all ears as well....
NAV needs a DVD drive assembly, monitor, antenna, and wiring which includes to the handbrake switch, back-up switch, and speed sensor.
It is a rather simple process, and if you bought the Porsche system it should plug into connectors behind the unit which should include connections to all the above stated points.
It's not as difficult as one would think.
I am adapting a Pioneer DVD system to my 360. I am most of the way there but have not had the time to finish yet. It also has a 7 1/2" screen which is the same color as my OEM gray panels!
It also allows for a B/U camera which is neat especially in my 360 because it's tough to see behind!

the factory nav kinda sucks though, if you feel like going the extra mile put in a nice aftermarket double-din touchscreen nav and replace the factory amp / speakers.
A professional aftermarket replacement of your system may end up costing the same if not less than buying all of the factory gear, and you will have a much better nav setup along with DVD capabilites, ipod control, bluetooth, better sound, etc. -and yes there are kits that let you retain use of the steering wheel controls.
I went with the Kenwood DNX-7100 in my 996 and absolutely love it- although my upgrade was easier in my 996 since it is non-MOST. But the CTT is next!!!!
