My car dyno'd after mods 997 S tip
Heres the dyno I finally did after modding my car....don't have any dyno for stock. Would appreciate if anyone has dyno numbers for a stock 997 S tip :)

looks like zero hp gains as expected. I pulled a 312 before my mods and no gains after
|
It would help if you told us what mods u did

Softronic ECU AWE (cats, headers, exhaust) RSS IPD plenum Fabspeed cold air intake |
dude, man u should def read alot of these threads before u purchase any mods, for example i read alot about that fabspeed cold air intake, it cost u about 250 and the truth is it only makes noise, no power gains. It eliminates the resonator which is that little bypass hose that is connected to the bigger hose which goes from the air filter box to the throttle body. Useless. As for the other mods i think that u should have some power gains, ecu and exhaust will def change the flow of air/ fuel in and improve the flow of emmissions out, that alone should give a small bump.
In any case enjoy the car, im sure it runs, sounds and looks amazing |

Also every car and dyno are different. You would have had to have a baseline on that dyno to really compare, and even then.....

You also have to keep in mind that a Tip uses much more that a Standard trans to drive the car in HP. In any case without a base you cant honestly compare your gains, Enjoy!
|
they arent that different..porsche is very very exact in their build specs and error margins..they all have the same hp +-5
|
True on the engine but a TIP is not as efficient at transferring power to the wheels as a manual due to the Torque converter.
So unless you were running the engine straight through a dyno and not through a transmission you will see less HP from a TIP car at the wheel vs. a manual car. |
|
Most shops will run forced air through the cooling system. You'll see huge fans in place in front or over the engine compartment. Run like this your temps will not be optimum and your readings will be off. Getting a reliable dyno test is not an easy thing. I would not worry about your #'s. Car should be quick, is it not?
|
yes it is quick and I'm very happy with it....I just wanted an idea on the numbers
|
Thanks for sharing...I have a Tiptronic too and the manual cars do feel a little more powerful but mostly it is the beeter gearing of the 6 speed manual vs the longer gearing of the 5 speed Tip.
