Chrome Exhaust Tips- 997S?
I suppose the biggest sound change would come from the mufflers so adding mufflers&tips seem like a perfect combo!
The mufflers are also substantially lighter than stock so you save some crucial weight at a very crucial spot. I was very pleased with the quality of both mufflers&tips, very nice coating on them. So maybe you can get a package deal. I'll see if I can find a few pictures of mine.

But are they really that much lighter. The post below shows stock to be 21 lbs vs. a supposed claim of 55 lbs by Fabspeed. How much to Fabspeed cans weigh?

I had the real PSE on my Boxster S and loved it with Fabspeed cat bypass pipes - sounded perfect. Deep with no resonance.
I seriously considered dropping $1200 on ebay or $1750 at suncoast for the true 997 PSE. But just couldn't bring myself to part with hardearned clams when this hack is SOO easy and cheap.
Anyway, someone here had mentioned the dude on ebay selling hacked mufflers - I looked at his design and added to it - using 2" pipe sections rather than 1". Welding a 2" pipe between inlet and outlet pipes did the trick! Perfection!
It sounds completely awesome - sounds EXACTLY like the OEM PSE, maybe even a bit louder.
All this for $175 for 2 hours labor at the local muffler store. And please, no comments on the butt-ugly welds. Of course, the install takes all of 45 minutes by yourself with jackstands, maybe even ramps. Very easy.
Below are pics and link to the videos.

Yikes - 21 lbs per side (far less than Fabspeed's claim of 55 lbs)
I am selling mine which are practically brand new.

I am not sure who you spoke to here at Fabspeed but I can assure you that we are not giving the exhaust and tips for $1,175.00. I am curious to know who you spoke to here, because we do not offer big discounts like this and undercut our dealers
please give me a call to clear the air.

That was MUFFLERS and TIPS- not the whole exhaust sytem- his name was Jaime- I did not know your pricing was a secret. I asked for the 6speedonline discount and he knocked a few dollars off but not much. For your information- he was extremely professional and knowledgeable.
Hope this helps...

I had (previous car) the Tubi exhaust mated with the OEM stainless tips. It was all good . It wasn't cheap but I liked the setup and the look. This was photo was the day after I bought it. You can look closely at the tips (I paid 700 bucks if I recall correctly but you may get a better price if you shop around) .
I'd be glad to send you a brief sound clip but I have no idea how to do so via PM .

These are the chrome tips - the brushed stainless tips are not as shiny.
There are no secrets about our pricing. I am aware that it is not our entire system and only mufflers and tips. We have always offered a 6speed discount to help out members but not 30% off of retail, and we do not have a Jamie that works here.
If you have any further questions please feel free to give me a call anytime.

From time to time the real chrome ones do come on ebay. I got mine there. Here they are side by side with the SS ones. I think I paid about $150.

Here are a couple of pics of the chrome tips...and the car as well...
Daytrader-
I actually got the tips installed at AAA Muffler in Costa Mesa- It was cheap and fast- $40- although afetr watching him "wrestle" the old tips off I am glad I did not try it myself- it took him a few minutes- then he had to "stretch" the left tip to get it to fit a little better- maybe it was for show and to justify the $40
I saved your reccomendation for anty "heavier" exhaust work-
Thanks-
