New to the Forum - Been a '05 C2 Cab owner for about 2 weeks now. First Porsche and it is really incredible. I formally believed that BMW was the best handling car i've driven, until now!!

Just wanted to add my experience on my recent private seller transaction . The car looks nearly identical to the photos of the 06 C2 Cab i've seen posted by P0rsch3. Same interior / exterior color and options , except mine is Tiptronic S and 2005. Car was so clean if i told people it was Brand New they would believe it.

2005 C2 Cabriolet
20240 Miles
Midnight Blue
Tiptronic S
Heated Seats
Bose
Bi-Xenon
Crest in Seats
Power Seats
Colored wheel crests
Sand Beige Instrument Dials (looks awesome!!)
Under Factory Warranty until 6/2009

Car was driven by a 60 yr old woman about 6k miles per year. She said she never drove over 70mph (not sure if this is good or bad ). Got full service history from their local dealer and all has been fine.

Changed rear tires to Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S Tires for +$500. Also did a 20k mile inspection/oil change for $391.

Paid $57,500 for the vehicle + Tires + 20k mile oil change = $58,381. Local CPOs were closer to $65k.

What do you guys think?

Congrats on your new pcar- Now go out and break that engine in properly! LOL

Nice to find such a "clean" car eh? My buy was similar, really nice elder gentleman \ exec, had too many cars & not enough time to drive the 997. Garage kept, all service records, etc - Love those good finds.

You may want to consider picking up an extended warranty.

I think you did pretty good, looks very clean. At the 20k mile mark, the major depreciation hits have been taken. No other major hits, IMHO until 50K. Great way to get into a PCAR...1/2 price Would get and extended warranty, usually runs 1500.00 for 3 more years/60k miles when the car has 20k already on it.

Good luck with and drive it!!

Where do you guys go for the extended warranty? Is there a particular company that is better than others? I can't qualify for CPO as i would have needed to buy it from the dealer...

You must get the extended warranty through a Porsche dealership. Be sure to shop around as policies / prices vary from dealer to dealer. Do your homework on the offered policies and ask a lot of questions before choosing one.

that's interesting actually - my local dealer (Porsche of Roslyn) said that they couldn't offer me an extended warranty since it was not CPO'd by them...

Sent you a pm with my email. Basically, they are aftermarket 3rd-party warranties. They are only provided through authorized dealerships. If your dealer does not offer this, other dealers will. call around. I have "EasyCare" on my 04 Cayenne TT through LA Auto Gallery Porsche dealer in Los Angeles. http://www.easycare.com
