ebay.

Don't buy springs, you'll just end up regretting it later (and have put out of pocket about $700-$900 - money that could have gone towards the right setup).
If you are on a budget, just hang tight and look for a used set of KW, PSS9 or H&R coilovers. Post a wanted ad in the parts section.

The only way you won't regret it is if you just putt around in your pcar and do not intend on driving it like a sports car. If you do like to drive your pcar properly and want a superior ride, good coilovers are the only way to go...period, case closed.

Dont do it. Get the coilovers and be done with it. You might think its a cheap fix, but you only solve ride height. With the springs, I think the car rides worse, and doesnt handle that great.

well, i ordered from tirerack.... i know coilovers are the best way to go, but the springs will work in the interim.

a good friend works at Porsche so the install is going to be relatively cheap

once I step up to 20's I will do coilovers at the same time. I just cant stand the stock height and the springs will get me looking "right" in the meantime

if anything, having the springs on the car will make me appreciate the coilovers that much more when they go on

Once you put good coilovers on, you are going to really be in awe how much better your car rides and handles. It's something you have to experience 1st hand, you'll feel like you're driving a whole new car.

My 25c- When the time is right get at very least KWv3's. They are GB priced (GB forum section) about the same as PSS10's but are vastly superior from my experience.

Let us know how it goes for ya-

I've been toying with this same idea. If I do go for the H&R springs only, over time, will the stock shocks hold up or will the ride progressively get stiffer and stiffer? I don't track my car and it's mainly to close the gap as well. Thanks for the advice!

actually, the ride will get progressively floppier and floppier. The stock shocks are underdamped as it is, so with the stiffer springs you'll notice a lack of rebound control.
The stock shocks don't seem to last all that long and IIRC adding the HR springs speeds up their demise.

Regardless, the HR springs do not feel "mated up" very well with the stock shocks. After having had proper coilovers (KW's) it is painfully obvious how poor this setup is. All it does is effectively get rid of fender gap- More of an aesthetic upgrade than anything else.

Now, this is perfectly fine for a lot of folks- Not everyone needs the enhancement of coilovers and the HR's serve their purpose well (and at a bit of reduced cost vs. buying coilovers). But if you are expecting the car to perform and handle a lot better, expect to be dissapointed.
