ATL, porsche3 is giving u good advice. go with the adjustable coilovers v. just getting springs on stock shocks. don't do it until you can splurge on the best setup for your street 911. you won't regret waiting a bit.

LOL- yeah I can tell how "cheap" you are with that nice shiny white 997s..
If you were driving an old Sentra or Civic I'd more believe you..

The key is spending money only where it matters. you'll spend $350 on springs and about $500-$600 for install, plus another $100 (or more) for proper alignment. So to me that is a potential grand wasted that could have gone towards coilovers!
Hold out for a used set of Damptronic PSS10 or just pony up and buy a set new, this is probably the +1 upgrade in terms of overall improving the ride / handling of your pcar so I highly suggest allocating some cash to this upgrade.
Besides, if / when you decide to sell the car you can recoup 50% of your spend.

Yes, I have HR's on my pcar right now but it cost me almost nothing.. actually, it cost me $0- otherwise I would not have done it.

You're probably right. If I could do the spring install myself that would save on labor, but it would probably take me a long time and who knows if the wheels will fall off when I'm driving it on the freeway.

I'll wait-- unless someone has a set of used coilovers they want to sell me. PM me

Overly big wheels bad. Nothing classic about it, since classic implies its been used for a long time.. and huge wheels is a relatively new phenom. So you'll be one of those cars crawling over every speed bump and curb at 2mph, irritating every other driver behind you. At least its not an SUV.

Congrats on your awesome purchase. I saw that post on craigslist on Monday and hesitated. You beat me to it. Just goes to show you, good deals do come by. Drive the hell out of it and sell it later for double / triple. Happy motoring. By the way, your new exhaust kicks a$$.

hformrace1- Yeah I'm glad I jumped on it. Who knows, could have turned out to be a waste of time as well, got lucky. YES the AH pipes do seriously kick *** (not my pipes, i'm not associated with AH other than being a "fanboy" lol!!)- do you notice more power off the line / mid / top?

Minok- I drive like that anyway over speed bumps and curbs. It's not a sedan. Screw the other drivers.
i'm keeping the 19's for road trips and serious driving (if I ever get time to make it to the track..).

I'm a big fan of AH as well. Havn't got the exhaust yet but you made me a believer. Watching your modification progress intensely. Finally got everything you have minus rims (green with envy) and H&Rs. Once again nicest Carrera I've seen yet with 20s. Congrats!

Aww thanks man- you are too kind. I suppose it has been the same process for me, seeing other member's cars here on the 6 progress, asking lots of questions and following what they did. It's a great community of knowledge and inspiration.

Downside, it is BAD for your bank account.. LOL
