Service Question

I have a couple service questions, I have a 2007 C2S

1 - When do I need my first service? I changed my oil at 7,500. Do I need anything else done at 10,000.

2 - Does it matter that I do my services or oil change at the dealer? I do not want to void warranty, does anyone have any experience with this?

The owners manual should answer those questions. There has been some discussion on warranty regarding servicing.

Check your service manual, but I believe the first scheduled service is at 20,000 miles.

Not having the service done at a dealer will void the warranty. In fact, if you use a coupon, so will that. And of course, everyone knows aftermarket floormats will void it too.

Seriously, this warranty voiding talk is a little much. Anyone, including you, can do the service. Just document it and make sure it is done correctly. Of course, it is easiest to just have the dealer do it.

I went through the same issue here in Australia. My OPC (cant mention the name) said that if I did the oil change myself, they wouldn't honor the factory warranty as they couldn't vouch for the Quality of workmanship. (I for one change my oil every 10,000km which is more frequent than the recommended). Strange thing is that they dont mind selling the OEM filter and sump plug gasket to you from their parts dept....

Seems to be as noted above that you can do it or have private shops do it as well. Although, developing a rapore with the dealer always helps!
