Any feedback with LSD on 2009 911's?

Is lSD a good option to get on 2009 911 S, any negative effects on driving with the LSD? ( understeer etc )

Thanks

I would order it, I am installing it on my 06 C2S. The drawback is that you will have faster exit speeds from corners. How much is it from the factory?

North Van,
. Lol, if the LSD is only going to enhance traction with no negative effect then seems to be a good idea. About $950 on 2009 911 S

I'd be interested in some input too.

LSD on the 2009 come with the lower ride height SPORT PASM...not regualr PASM and you can not get LSD by itself.

I have the lower SPORT PASM and the car ride fine, just like a sports car. I'd get these option again.

Mike knows the 09's much better then I do. If it is only $950 for the LSD, I wouldn't think twice about it. Just to buy a third party unit is about $2000 plus install. I still say go for it.

I'm afraid that is not accurate. You can order the LSD by itself, option number 220 $950. The only requirement when ordering it is that you also order a 19" wheel.

You can also order option P17, which is what you are referring to, offering both Sport PASM and the LS Diff. for $2940 on the standard Carrera, and $950 on the Carrera S.

You can also just order Sport PASM without the LS Diff. option number 030, free on the Carrera S, and $1990 on the standard Carrera.

Thanks for the correction...but I was talking about the Carrera S. I never looked into the standard Carrera when I was buying.

thanks!:D

Please re-read my post. It applies to both the standard Carrera and the S.

Michael, what I meant to say is LSD is part of the Sport PASM option...I have this option. I ordered my car in July and actually along with the dealer sales manager sat in his office and spoke with PCNA and I swear they said LSD was not an option an donly came with the -20mm lower Sport PASM as a performance package.

Anyway, I have LSD on my 09 and there are no bad issues with this option. Also if you are into the sport part of a Porsche I do HIGHLY recomend the Sport PASM too.

You can also order LSD on the 09 Carrera S w/ std PASM. It just happens that if you order sPASM, it already comes w/ LSD.

Was it obvious?

The other draw back is your wallet will be a little lighter!

Yes the LSD and the lighter wallet will make you go faster. Even if it is the placebo effect. You will think you are faster because you just spent a $1000 on this mod. Therefor you have more HP and accelerate twice as fast, the same thing the Plenum does!
