just acquired bmw m5

last night i pulled the trigger and got 2008 M5 for my wife.. I couldnt resis the clearance price.
I will admit it is a lot of car for the money. way cheaper than comparably equipped porsches with way more hp. however i will tell you this.

when i drive my 997s, i feel younger, handsomer, sexier, more desirable.
when i drove M5, I didnt feel any of those...
I once again confirmed there is no substitute.

That's a nice car . From what I heard BMW is offering some major deals on thse cars.

Too bad for me. I bought my M3 at the launch and got a few bucks off but nothing near what they are selling for today .

Your wife must be thrilled.

I bought it for my wife at first thinking she would love it but she hates the coffee spilling shifts even in the least aggresive setting. I enjoy it more than she does (3rd and 4th on the highway watch out!)but if I had to choice between my C2s and the M5....... I wouldn't even have to think twice. There really is no substitute.

Got kids? I've got a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old and just traded my 2003 330i sedan on a 2007 C4S. It's , getting the kids in and out of the back seat. And when you drive a black c4s with an aerokit around DC to places like the kids schools for drop off, you don't just get places, you tend to show up, whether you like it or not. And then there's the front spoiler lip to watch out for...
I do love this 997 dearly, but there's still something to be said for the M5, which is practically a sleeper in comparison. That's easy livin'!
Then again, I'm obviously a glutton for punishment - my wife's 3 series vert is the family hauler.

I have a similar story. I had an 07 5 series that I got rid of to get my 06 Carrera S. Two kids, 1 and 4... Two car seats in the back and I have ZERO regrets. The only "sacrifice" I had to make to appease my wife was to get a tip... and I don't have any regrets there either...

For one, my eldest daughter LOVES the car -- "ooooh this is fast daddy!"; for another, I love the double takes I get at traffic lights when people see the kids in the back.

There really is NO substitute...

Mind if I ask what type of discount structure are they offering today? In the market for a used one, so would definitely help. Thanks.
