Turbo going for 89K
Turbo going for 89K
Just an FYI to those interest, the Jaguar/Landrover dealership in Santa Monica is selling a 2007 hardtop turbo 13kmiles for 89k midnight blue color. If i could i would! the prices of our cars are falling like rocks the sticker on mine was 97k in 06 and now i bet i couldn't get 65k for it...I know they are cars and not investments, but i was really hoping my 911 would of held its value a little better.
In a normal market . They would have. But this is really such a different economy. At least you expected some depreciation and had a lot of fun for your money. The same money in the Stock Market would have dropped more ........with no pleasure !! . Anything thats a luxury is way off.......just check the prices of boats.. at least you can drive yours daily so it has some daily functionality..with all the fun.
I would be very careful with some of thse cars which have prices so low on NON CPO cars.
Drive home in an 80K Turbo and one opens up the door to all types of risks from a voided warranty to overspray and gaps .
They all look pretty on the used car lots . I'm not saying good deals aren't out there but if it sounds too good to be true .. it usually isn't.

Well, here's a CPO 2007 Turbo at Princeton Porsche in NJ. (link below) They are asking $99,975. About 17k miles. The local sports car reseller near me has one just like the one you found for $94,900 (obviously not certified)
$89k is only $10k off the certified car. The cert itself costs $2k, right? So the cars are only $8k apart.
Anyway, isn't the new 997.2 turbo supposed to be out for MY 2010? So in 9 or 10 months, it should be here. That's not going to help the 2007 TT any either. The natural depreciation of the TT is going to be quickly accelerated by the crippled economy and the impending 997.2 TT. I would expect good examples to be found in the $80s later this year. But what do i know?
I bought my 2007 C4S a month ago and I think it's already taking a beating since I negotiated it on Dec. 30. The daily drumbeat of negative news is just killing the appetite for cars of all types.

I'm willing to bet the tuner market is collapsing even faster. How badly do people need $5,000 wheels $20k superchargers?

CMOS -- The economy plus huge inventory = lower pricing.
The 997S has retained value pretty well . The Turbo has not . It's not because the 997.2tt is coming . In fact too little is known aboit the car and if the GT1 engine is abandoned for a 3.8 integrated wet/dry sump engine .. 997tt loyalists may have a cow over this .
Nothing is confirmed and it would not surprise me if the 997.2 tt is delayed in its release until 2010 as an 2011 model . Too much at risk . In fact Porsche could benefit by halting production fir a year . They have done this in the past withn the 993 and 996 Turbo cars.
It does not matter to me though. I am keeping my Turbo and have spent enough to buy two Turbos to make this ONE car what it is today.

That's the attitude that we want to see. If we're not selling our cars, the depreciation means nothing to us.
