Excellent job for a first timer- I used to work with this material a lot wrapping busses etc with ads (Mc Donalds, Frito Lay, etc) when I had my graphic design biz. It is 3M Scotchprint Vinyl, good stuff. You basically lay it down like window tint film and use a water spray bottle with just a few drops of dish soap to apply. A rubber squeegee blade is used to work it down and the water out from the back. The key is to start at top end from middle with squeegee and wipe outward in either direction, working your way down so the water / air bubbles is moved out to either side and down, and use a lot of water in the process to keep air out. -and you want to get as much water out as possible. It *will* shrink up a bit after a few weeks, so expect any tears to become larger. Also, if you cut pieces you need to overlap them by about 3/16". Any butt-seams (edge to edge) will shrink apart and leave a gap.

If you want to see what this stuff looks like over time, just have a close peek at most any city bus. Most of them are wrapped on the sides / rears with ads.

This is pretty cool stuff- they are even wrapping weapons with it for quick camo-

I happen to like that look and even though it's retro it looks like it belongs on the car. Very nice look and it offers you the option of saving the original chip free hood for trade up time.

I love the gambella, but Im saving that dough for my JRZ suspension

I left the clear bar on as this just temporary, for track events to save my hood... once it gets banged up, I will pull it off and do it again!

Thanks for all the advice. I just winged it (as I do everything) and it came out 9/10.... we will see in a few weeks as it shrinks up... perhaps i will have to take it off sooner than expected ;(

That's.....a beautiful retro-look hood! Fit's the 997 body perfectly.

Mo, when I read the post the first time I thought that you swapped the hood from another 997 and it was painted Black. Matte Black wrap is a great idea, looks very cool.

The car is seal gray and I wrapped in in a matte-ish black vinyl.

its not matte is more of an eggshell.

Most similar to electrical tape!

What do you use to trim around the paint without scratching anything?

I never understood the desire to have a car that just received a paint-mismatched part form a donar car at the junk yard.
