Best place to look for a Porsche?
Best place to look for a Porsche?
Where would you recommend as for how to find a Porsche? We might be interested in buying a newer one, maybe a C4S or a Cab in the 2005-6 range.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

The good news --There are plenty of 05 and 06 cars in the styles that you are looking at .
The bad news --Not in your region .
I just did an auto trader search to see cars with high miles and limited selection . I could not find one car under 10K miles and most were over 20 .
That means you either have to wait or travel . The price range I searched was 0-65K . I am not pleased with what came up .

As a buyer, should we be particularly worried about a car with say 20k miles on it vs 10k? My general expectation is that these cars, if properly cared for, will last a LONG time. Seems that as a buyer, if the car is well cared for and maintained, I may be BETTER served looking for one with > 10k miles, all else being equal.
Can you help me with this idea?
Thanks!
Kurt
Im thinking a non silver, non black C4S cab in a 04-06 range, under 60K if possible. Our dream is a turbo cab but thats a pipe, i know!
EBAY is to sketchy unless its the last resort. I havent tried autotrader yet, but ill give them a look as well.
In my experience when I was looking for my C4S Cab(which is for sale btw
) the over the 10K mark is a psychological mark for the luxury car buyer..it usually drops the price 3k on a porsche, maybe even more for a Turbo..?
Yes, these cars were built to drive but most seldom ever push the cars to their potential as where are you going to get above 5000 rpm on a day to day basis..within seconds your doing over 100mph. These cars are unreal, the Turbo is crazy, but call me crazy because I looking to get one.
My friend has an 06 CS with 50k, tracks the car and he has never had a problem,well..except he goes through tires and brakes like crazy. You want a car, IMO that hasn't been tracked or a lot of mods as this might have warranty issues.
From Oct 08 until Feb there were alot of cars around...I have noticed the low mileage cars are being bought up..CAB season is upon us and in the past it gets hard to find them once May hits(atleast in the Northeast)
Good luck.

Mileage question: for what it's worth Motortrend (10/30/2008) listed EasyCare as a "best buy" for extended warranties. This company's best price (I just checked yesterday) is for cars with less than 25,000 miles - no $$ difference for let's say 9,000 miles or 22,000 miles on my 06 911S. Obvious conclusion is that they rate the risk of covered repairs to be the same. This has nothing to do with subjective perception or the probable added value of very low mileage, of course, but personally I would not want a garage queen with 1200 miles unless I too was going to baby it for only a few hundred mile a year.
I might have what you're looking for! PM me.

Bingo . Even more for a Ferrari or Lambo . Most people find this out when they go to sell or trade in their Porsche . One can even see cars with just SHY of 10K that used car lots won't even let a person test drive .
The "cars are made to be driven" has a dollar cost upon resale but for those who drive high miles --that's the price of the toy . If you are searching to buy insist on low miles and if you absolutely fall in love with a high mile car use that as heavy discount leverage on buying it.

X2.
Let me know if there's something in particular that you're looking for. South Florida tends to have higher car turnover then most other places, so there's always a ton of cars floating around here looking for good homes.
Even though you're on the other coast, I think it's well worth it to spend a minimal amount on shipping if you can find the right car.
PM me if you have any specific wants, and I'll put a few feelers out in the area.
