I know it's not a C2, but for comparison's sake I just bought a new '09 Turbo Cab for 15% off of list. I was also able to get 1.9% financing from Porsche Financial Services. Granted there is more profit margin on Turbo's for the dealers to play with, but I still think I got one heck of a deal!

You hear a lot of good deals like this, but the truth is, when you are really search for one with cash in hand ready to buy, none can be found. At least not in the greater LA/OC area based on my search a few weeks back. I'd buy any of those good deals mentioned in a heart beat. But too late now...

I also noticed the TT or heavily upgraded Carrera's priced north of $100K seem to be the ones getting the hefty discounts. So if you expect to find a base model with discount, it will be much more difficult.

noobie here looking to buy my 1st pcar! Almost bought on impulse and adrenaline when I first tried out some older 997 C2S but since I found this site I have become more knowledgable and doing my research! I saw a good deal on an 08 which was almost new but seeing the advantages of the 2009 (engine, suspension, exhaust, etc) and the discounts I now want an 09!

Anyways, do people expect these discounts to last in the fall? I expect the markets to crash and things to get worse from here. Also, fall sales dip with winter on its way compared to spring & summer.

This will depend on your dealership. Those with leftover 08/09 inventories may be pressed to discount heavily to move cars off their floorplans. Others who have lighter inventories (many of those have to max out the deal on each car since they sell fewer cars altogether) may not.

The best advice, imo, that anyone can give you is to make your search across as many dealerships as possible especially if you are looking for cabs and 2WD in the North, 4WD in thew South, etc.

I agree with you. Everyone states great deals, but when you speak to dealers they turn a deaf ear.

For model year 2009 PCNA has 10% up front in their cars and 3% in holdback. These numbers are without any incentive cash.

If you are finding deals in the 12+% range, you landed yourself a solid deal.

Best time to get amazing deals is in winter because dealers start lowering their prices, but in the summer, prices don't take a steep drop.

The incentives of April and May are gone . Remember back when members posted th great lease deals . That was months ago .

Dealerships are swimming in 09 inventory . I have not looked at one dealership site where they had no cars to offer .

What they fail to have is the sweet spot demanded by used car shoppers . The 53K to 59K range is the spot I am talking about on 06 and 07 low mile CPO cars .
That's what most want and months ago those used cars were everywhere . with less cars the price bumps up a bit. Not much though .

When the economy tanked a lot of people immediately sold their cars. Turbo prices went into an all out freefall . The 997S was actually quite resillient but there were used cars and now there's less .

Plus dealerships realized that the CPO demand is high and they obviously aren't selling enough new cars .

So the shopper may have to bump up a few bucks in CPO but the bargains are more on new cars .

10 and 12 percent is almost unheard of on a Porsche launch year car.
20 grand off on a Turbo is like never before .
A used Turbo for 50 to 70 grand less than MSRP only 2 years old -- unprecedented .
an 08 in the mid to high 60's ona 90K car with under 1K miles .
These are the current bargains and they are all at the higher price end .

I speculate the future bargain wil be on the 09 leftovers. 2010 models are out and some dealerships even have 08 cars . It would not surprise me if a few even had 07 Caymans sitting next to 08 Cayenne gts cars.

Larry,

Any word or thoughts on 2010 pricing when you place an order? I heard that they were limiting 2010 production severely.

FYI - Dealer holdback is a percentage of either the MSRP or invoice price of a new vehicle that is repaid to the dealer by Porsche.

Incentive cash is paid or credited to the to the dealers by Porsche.
