Dealers discounting 997's
I have been shopping hard for my next 'P' car and have not yet decided what to purchase. In my search, I encountered a dealer advertising in Autoweek that would sell me a new 997S ( with a list price of $99,000) for$ 87,000. I thought this was a great price but it is a black car and I just don't have the patience or time to keep a black car clean. Anyway, it seems that at least here in Ohio, the dealers are having a hard time selling cars. At least one local dealer is discounting'04 TT$15,000 +. In all my years as a Porschephile I have never seen this.

Come on Man, black is hard to keep clean but it blings when it is clean.
Those are great discounts, take advantage, its a buyer's market.
Go for it!!!!!!

I thought my black car would be a major PITA when I got it. Now I don't think I would have any other color. Very cool,

YEa but still 87k?? Give it a year and it's going to drastically decrease, esp if their not even selling now...I dont know about the prices on the 997's anymore...love the car...price is off though I think. I mean for 87k you can get a REAL nice 996 turbo!
Where do you think a slightly used (ie 5K — 7K) C2S trades for in a year? Assuming that MSRP is about $90K (rough average), I'm probably thinking a slightly used car is probably at about $76 - $78 within a year.
Thoughts? |
are u sure it's not one of the DEMO car? sounds just too good to be true... even 996 is hard to come by at that discount when new.
I believe that $87K was probably a misprint. I don't think Porsche would allow a dealer to discount so much..

I would think dealer invoice would be higher than $87K. Is there $12K of margin in a 997?
I think the margin on 911's are around $10k. The price on the black 997S sounds too good to be true...
Dealer invoice is historically about 86% of MSRP on Porsches , so all those " $99K Special " 997S black/black launch cars that most dealers got as first demos probably invoiced around $85K.

My new MB is metallic black and I love it, I am TIRED of silver boring boring boring shows no lines or depth to any car!
No, it's not a misprint. Dealer just got car in and it is on the showroom floor with 20 miles on the odometer. MSRP is 99,000 and dealer will sell it for $87,000. I didn't buy it but the deal is there.
