This was the best advice you can receive.

I just want to add to it a little.......

First, learn how to drive your new car the way it was meant to be driven (on the track) by joining a local PCA club and sign up for DE's this spring. That will be $'s well spent. Not $$$'s. After a few times out you will discover permagrin, then decide if you need better tires and wheels for the track or the extra power.

Just my 2 cents, good luck with your new car & enjoy in good health.

Agreed. Just a footnote, a tubi or any variation in exhaust will only void the warranty for the parts you mess with. If you change the cats, it will void the engine warranty. You can search other posts with this discussion.
Exhaust + Chip seems to be the best bang for the buck. The PSE adds noise (quite a bit when open) but no power, according to posts here.

Based on what you posted, I'd say the following:
1. X51 headers ($600) and AWE Cats ($1500). If doing one, do both. Leave stock mufflers. X51/AWE cats will give you an amazing sound AND a bump in power.
2. Softronic, which is fully reversable as others have mentioned. Call it $1k.
3 Good alignment with maxed -camber up front for sharper steering / better response. $200.
4. SSK really amazed me. $299 at Huntington plus install of about $200.

That should keep you at or under your budget including all labor and the car will be transformed.

Suspension upgrade is another option....not a gain in HP but an immediate performance improvement

Save on labor costs, and DIY. With the savings, go for a Dension Gateway 500.

I've experimented with suspension and there really is no mod that's an upgrade from stock with the 2008 S (PASM). I tried H&R sways, GT3 sways, Damptronics and in the end returned to stock (this after much track testing). Now the 2009 C2S w/ Sport PASM is a fantastic setup... But again, based on OP's desire list, suspension isn't even on his radar...
