Yeah, I love it, believe it or not. Standard leather.
It's not as light as bmw's sand beige, it's actually closer to their natural brown leather color.
It has kind of a wild 1950's look.
(Btw, I don't think Porsche's premium leather is all that good, and I actually prefer the standard black vs. the premium black).

If you have the sand beige interior, change out the floormats to black ones, nice contrast.

Used to have black. Spent a LOT of time at stoplights dusting!
Now I have a sand beige standard leather interior. Don't miss the full leather, and really, REALLY like the sand beige (midnight blue exterior). Only thing I would like to change is the rear center console and storage compartment lid. I think they look MUCH better in leather, but are not included with full leather anyway.

I am also a sand beige 997 owner.
The colour itself is really nice, but the leather quality is unfortunately pretty bad. Furthermore it is a leather/leatherette combination, even when you have the full leather package.

I have black floor mats! Looks really nice. Otherwise it would be too much tan

Another sand beige full leather owner here. This is the first car I've had that didn't have a gray or black interior. I only liked it at first, but now I really love it. My first choice was cocoa leather, but those were very rare to come by when I was shopping for my car. For contrast, I plan to paint the PCM and center console gloss black to match the exterior of my car.

I love my sand beige. I usually get grey or black interiors, but I'm glad I didn't. Every girl I have in the car comments on how nice it is.

Personally it is just too much beige though, I wish there was a bit more contrast color. I might have to do the center-console replace.

Same here. The idea with the black PCM and Center console is a good idea. I would do it as well

Btw--If I were going to pay extra for premium leather, it would definitely be natural brown, probably not the others.

Hockeyguy4u:
I agree! The natural brown interiors I have seen look somewhat similar to sand beige when new, but really look great as they age!

not sure I'm still in like with the beige interior but I do like the idea of getting contrasting floor mats to tone down all that light brown... I saw a vertible at the dealer after I bought the coupe and it had half/half beige and black. great combination...

What kind of paint will you use? I had the same idea. I like the 997.2 look with the black center column and the use of aluminum on the dash.

I'd most likely send it out to a body shop to have it painted. Since it's plastic, it'll need to have flex agent added to the paint same as they do for the bumpers. I'm sure for skilled DIYers it could be done, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the task of painting something for the interior myself.

Interior touch up paint tip

Also wanted to mention that if you need to touch up some parts of your interior, take your ashtray to home depot for a color match and get a 8oz sample of Behr premium flat interior paint for a super cheap price (I think it was less than $5). Works great, can barely tell it was touched up. Got the idea from a thread on RL.
