Hi, does any one know if 997S mufflers will fit on a 996?

 

No - it won't, at least not without modifying the plumbing.

 

Thanks, that's what I thought. Compared several pictures, and they look quite similar though.

 

Not sure if this is true. I think the mufflers on a 997 have 996 part numbers. Don't quote me on that though.

 

awhile back i was looking for exh for my 02 996 c2- saw all sorts of used 997 systems for sale but none for 997- i asked one of board
sponsors (can't recall who) whether 997 muffler or cat such as AWE, etc would fit w/o any modification of the part & was told only part that was direct fit was header.

 

The mufflers may be the same, but the plumbing needs to be modified.
