VF Engineering Needs 2 997 Carrera's!!!!
 

VF Engineering is re-inventing their supercharger systems for the Porsche 996 and 997 Carrera! They would like to update their instruction sheets, pictures, and do some new viral videos on and off the dyno. The VF Engineering supercharger has been extremely popular with the Carrera market to get a 100+HP with this safe and reliable bolt on unit.

VF has chosen Vivid Racing to work with on this project and this means a great incentive for those that want to boost up their Carrera! We are looking for 1 of each engine model to complete this project. For the 996, we need a 3.4L and a 3.6L. For the 997, the 3.6L and 3.8L. 6spd transmissions preferred. The vehicles can be BONE stock as no other mods are needed except an exhaust.Customers can either bring their car to VF Engineering in Southern California or Vivid Racing in Arizona. You will receive a $2000 credit to cover your installation at either facility.

What changes is VF-E making?
I have one of their first units, and it's incredible. Running 530HP with it, although it is slightly modified.

My suggestions:
-The first version (mine included) shares oil with the engine, which I prefer over the SC having it's own oil, I wouldn't be surprised if they went back to that.
-Sort out a better solution for the blow by oil. I've got a custom catch can, but VF-E should create something similar so users don't have to dismantle and clean all the intake plumbing every few thousand miles. That blow-by is nasty, so a catch can connected to the driver's side crank case vent tube is an easy fix that VF-E should consider.
-Integrated boost and AFR control units would be nice.
-Find a solution that would allow for easier changing of the air filter.
-Include a hi-flow engine bay fan, to help keep the bay cool. This is important for many reasons, including that the air filter is in here, and the intake air gets very hot before it hits the IC. Consider making this fan switchable by the driver, rather than auto/on off at certain temps as the OEM is.
-Include a half-dozen good-year EZ-Coil springs to ensure that the IC lines don't get kinked anywhere.
-Include a solution such as I used to ensure that the IC lines don't chafe on the cross members under the car in the center cavity. I used a thick reinforced rubber tube, cut in half.

Finally, if they are re-working their instructions, I'd love to lend a hand. I took copious notes in my manual during install, and have some good input, particularly in terms of what tools, bit, and socket sizes are needed for which parts/ steps, etc.
