Brake pads for HPDE's
 

What brakes pads do you guys use for HPDE's?
OEM or what?
Anyone use Pagid RS19 yellow??

Hey Mr. B. Being as you would be running an HPDE.The car probably wont be ran at 10/10's. An OEM pad wouldnt be bad. Pagid RS29's are more or less an enduro pad, where as an RS14 would be a sprint pad. But with more bite. If you're running street tires or even DOT r compounds, The RS29's would be a safer bet with less lockup and more longevity for future events. An RS19 is in the middle of both, but even trying 29's and 14's in combination front and rear, you should have a better brake bias under heavy breaking.

I did a HPDE with PCA Potomac this past April. Go with OEM tires and brakes.
Concentrate of driving skills and speed will come after a few DE’s.

I run the RS29's on all 4 corners, and they are so much better then stock pads, however I am a lot more aggressive on my brakes then most people. IIRC you are an instructor, so these pads will be fine for you, they will however eat rotors a lot faster then the stock pads.

I probably should have mentioned that I am an SCCA National racer and a track Instructor for just about everyone, including the PCA. I usually drive my C2S close to 10/10ths. The car has the larger brakes from the Turbo, and they seem to work well. I was just wondering if there's anything better.

Also, after a hard run on the track I let the car idle for at least 5 minutes, but I still get plumes of white smoke the next time I start it up.

Mr. B, I run Pagid RS29 Yellows...they have more bit than the RS19 Yellows along with 9x18 and 12x18 CCW wheels with Toyo RA1 shaved 245-40-18 front and 305-35-18 rear. Also Performance Friction PF01 are great pads.

This set up works great for 2005-2010 997S and GT3 cars.

The spec boxster guys seems to like Pagid Yellows on the front and Pagid Blacks on the rears.
