dealer can't get alignment specs that I want

I've seen a lot of suggestions on a good alignment for a 997S street/DE track car with a stock PASM suspension. My dealer has been happy to do whatever I want but they can't seem to get front camber to the specs that others on this board have.

I've asked for something like this:
Front camber -1.0
Toe .02
Rear camber -1.5
Toe .12

The dealer tech says that he can only get front camber on my car to -.5.
I've seen some of you state that I might expect to get -.8 or, at most, -1.0.

Any idea why they can't get more negative camber on my car?
Do I need to go to an independent/speed shop?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry I dont have any other ideas....but maybe checking in with a reputable race shop who is familiar with track/race alignments may get you some answers.

Good luck!

There is variation by car -.5 to -.8 is a common range for adjustability with stock parts. Maybe a track specialist could squeeze a little more out for you but anything meaningful requires adjustable control arms - most use GT3 control arms. That said it is not worth the expense if you don't track hard and a lot. Control arms, labor and a new alignment is $1000+. Improving trackability compromises road handling stability and causes lots of wear on inside of tires when driving on the street. Wouldn't do until you find yourself hitting the track alot.

Also generally you want rear to have less negative camber than the front - as rear tires are much wider the same amount of camber lifts the outside edge of rear tire higher off the ground.
