i agree with the head turner comment, it turns my head side to side over and over again

i am absolutely speachless
i truly thought that the people on the 996tt forum were braindead... but you certainly take the cake with this
your rear tire looks to have too thin of a sidewall... the 19/20 combo looks retarded
the car looks very plain and tacky without a body kit... the brakes look like they should be on my sisters bicycle...
the wheels dont even go with the flow of a 997

and you mixed and matched tires

i would suggest giving back the car and picking up the datsun 240sx you traded it in for...

Wow Steve, ever heard the expression if you have nothing nice to say...

I think it good someone tried something different then another 911 on HRE's... At the end of e day maybe 10% of P car drivers track them and only 10% of the time! More then likely this is a street car and if he likes it why do you need to hate on him? But let me be the first to thank you for insulting a total stranger with a douchy post like that!!!

^^Yeah, probably one of the meanest posts I've read on this forum. Took a lot of guts to go with that color, took more guts to post pics. If you don't like it, you don't have to comment. If you do comment in the negative, try to keep in mind other's feelings...they work the same as yours :).

its not a mean post.. whats mean is the posts before mine, with members lying to the guy about his car...

it really doesnt look good... at all...

im not here to be a jerk ... its more of a mission of mercy..

imagine if somone drove around in that car, with their head in the air full of pride (falsly believing his car looks "sick" )
... then they pull up to a nice outdoor cafe or club, and all of a sudden people start pointing and laughing... thats lifelong psychological trauma

im trying to help the guy avoid that

I assume this is you being funny because the day he pulls up to a cafe full of Porsche nuts who recognize the different size wheels and tires is the day we wind the Gay Porsche Cafe...

99% of the time it will be full of woman who are looking because a 911 pulled up.

I do think anything out of the box is "sick", don't know about you but I prefer something different then the same old...

women looking at a 911 ? lol ... .definately not with a straight face

:p

It's okay, i'm really not hurt by anyone's opinion about my car (it's only a car, you know..). Did 1000 miles this week-end and heard about all comments possible about those wheels; it certainly draws attention.

But anyway, don't care much about the wheel's color, let's talk about the tires. It's just AWESOME. Got hot temp all the week-end (85-90f deg) and the car stick on the road like crazy, the AD08 on the front is awesome, i can hardly imagine any other non-race tire being so race-like and the Pirelli's on the rear end allow just enough oversteer for my taste with extreme ease of control when it drifts, but it's harder to make it drift now (broke-in + high outside temp).

Overall i'm extremely satisfied but won't stop trying tire's combinations because heretic or not, IT WORKS.

yeah, it's ugly. Black would be good.

I agree with you. And i'll be very gentle on the first wet road i'll get. I'm undecided yet about trying 325-25-20 Pirelli on rear wheels because i'm a bit worried to lose the great balance (w/just a bit of oversteer) i have right now.

What i should do, also, is trying a set of 18's (all corners) with R compound tires to have a real "racetrack" reference.

Jon8, we both live in mtl but I've never seen this car, what area do you live in? I'm in the west island...

Well, there's a lot of cars and streets in Montreal and i just installed the orange wheels few days ago.. I'll may see your white 997 as well one of these days.. :)

I saw a 996 GT3 on the track last weekend; it was silver w/ orange wheels, mirrors and wing. It looked good for some reason. I never liked the 997 GT3 in those colors... I think it had some vinyl on the car as well, it looked more like a cup car.
