Welcome to 6 speed.
You can get a better deal than that on an '04 996, all depends on miles, options, condition, and location. And yes, of course it's a good car. Porsche's are amongst the most reliable cars you can buy, especially when driven regularly and well maintained. Fluids, brakes, and tires - replace those regularly, and you can expect decades from it.
However, please allow me to politely recommend that you take advantage of the search function within the 996 forum of this website. There is plenty of information there, all of which you can research by reading that which has already been asked, answered, and opined on.
The learning and discovery process with Porsche is exceptionally rewarding: the more you learn, the better it gets.
Best of luck, and enjoy!

Porsche is somewhat you get after you know what is it you want. please do some research.
no, I would not pay those money for that car look for porsches produced year 2006 and newer, get it from a porsche dealer with CPO warranty or from private party but make sure it has CPO warranty.
