911 C4S Cab I'm Considering Purchasing - What do you think?
Hi Guys,
First off, thanks for a great education via this Board. It really is amazing. I'm looking at a beautiful 2008 C4S Cab ( see all details below); 1 owner (trade for one of those Italian cars); <8,000 miles. Basalt on Cocoa leather. Asking $80,000...What is a "reasonable" price for this 911? And, what do you think of the options? Or any other input you might want to add! Thanks!!:) Retail Price 113,265.00 Option Class Option Option Class Description Option Price BSEMDL BASE Porsche Base Model 100,000.00 BDYCLR Z4 Basalt Black Metallic 690.00 TOPCLR V9 Black Top .00 INTERI RA Natural Leather Cocoa 3,795.00 OPTION CXB Door Entry Grds Stl Steel Illu 725.00 OPTION P15 Pwr Comfort Seats w/Driver Mem 1,550.00 OPTION XAJ Side Skirts in Exterior Color 750.00 OPTION XSC Porsche Crest in Headrest 270.00 OPTION X54 Stainless Steel Exhaust Pipes 360.00 OPTION 267 Self Dimming Mirrors 385.00 OPTION 342 Heated Front Seats 500.00 OPTION 404 19" Turbo Wheel 890.00 OPTION 640 Sport Chrono Package Plus 960.00 OPTION 680 BOSE Surround Sound-System 1,390.00 OPTION 810 Floor Mats in Interior Color 140.00 |
Options are pretty good...80k no way...If it is from a dealer and CPO'd maybe 76, private party offer 71 and if no...walk IMHO.
You probably can get a 09 C4S with same miles for 87k to 89k private party...much better deal if you take the time to look. Larry....? |
This is yet another example of a huge overprice on the car. I know at least one guy on this forum who paid in the low 70's for an 08 C4S cab and that was over a year ago. I understand that all the prices are high . They can't sustain thse high levels .
The slight economic upward bounce has some folks back in denial and with that comes upward pricing of high end retail . There was a time when sales were very quiet . Many cars sat on lots unsold and consumers evaluated every expense. Maybe the buyers and the sellers both forgot. |
Thanks to you both. Great advice and perspective. I am patient and not in love with the car. There are more out there! Really, a big thanks for placing it into perspective.

Thanks for those. My phone is horrible for replies. I will responds tommorrow.

I don't know Texas well but read a lot of posts so I looked on auto trader .
I found your car BTW . A C4S cab apparently is rare for the current listings but what i did notice is that a lot of cars in the region were decently priced --just not the one you were looking at. If you are really particular about a C4S cab used you may have to wait . At 80K it's a lot of money, it's not CPO , and so close to a new car which is three years younger and new. BUT --- What I also noticed is that there were more Turbo Cabs than C4S cabs (with CPO) . Maybe I just feel that once one crosses the 80K range it better be either a DFI 2009/2010 car or a used Turbo. Good luck in your search. Take yoir time and and be certain because even when you buy no car at all .. you still have the savings and that's never bad. |
Way too much$$$.

I agree. Way too much.

Yup, a little over a year ago I paid in the very low $70's for my car. 2008 C4S Cab. I'll try to find the post I made about it and you can take a peek. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions. Ok, found the thread I started when I got my car. Wow, a year really flies by. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-porsche.html |

You are one of the few who could break even on yoir car after driving it a year. :) |

It's been a long time --good to see you posting.
Joe -when you see the current prices you may fall out of your chair. You are one of the few who could break even on yoir car after driving it a year. :) Thanks. Yeah, been pretty busy with work and the family of late so haven't had a chance to frequent the boards to much. Besides, finally got some decent weather after a miserable spring so trying to put some miles on the car with the little free time I've got. Yeah, I'm sure the prices have dropped a pretty penny. One of the reasons why I try to avoid looking at current selling prices once I got my car. No reason to second guess myself as that would drive me crazy. Most important thing is that I was comfortable with the price I paid and have loved every minute since I've had the car. "You are one of the few who could break even on yoir car after driving it a year." Coming from you, that does add to the comfort of my purchase and is just extra gravy on the potatoes :) |
