Craziest 2 mph road experience for a 911 in Boston..

I accidentally took a wrong turn onto the heart of the North End (Boston's "Little Italy") on a Saturday night.

Centuries old ankle-twisting cobble stones with ~ 4" of variance (my low profile wheels are crying) , double parked cars, foot-high curbs, narrow streets designed for horse-drawn Fiats - I literally had 2" of clearance between my rims and the curb for a good part of the drive, and it was during the festival of Madonna's and Saint somethingerather for fishermen, so there were tourists galore and garbage everywhere. People spilling off the sidewalks- walking into the cars (someone actually fell onto my door). It took me an hour to weave a 1/4 mile of streets. I did have time to snap a few pictures, while my left leg was cramping up...

Damn it does look like a tight fit lane. It looks really nice there in little italy. Totally different scene from Honolulu. BTW you check out your door to see if any damages were done by the person who fell on it?

Too bad you didn't stop by La Summa for some great Italian. Whenever I went to the North End I would park by Fanieul Hall and walk up.

Oh man...driving in the North End is never a good time. Lacrosse is right...garaging it and hoofin' it is definitely the way to go.

No damage to the door, fortunately. Just a hand print. (Everything shows up on black).

Tonight, I had to run up to Portland, ME (Neat little town) and was surprised by more cobblestones. Almost broke out in hives.

Not my pic..but this was the street...

Thats funny, I was there later that night, still packed with people! I live in the back bay so I never take my car there, $5 cab ride. Great food though, eat there at least once a week.
