What I heard about the 2012..........

Stopped by the local dealer yesterday.

Chatted with a sales guy who said that Porsche in Germany has communicated that the 2012 may grow in width and length vs. current Carrera, and there will be hybrid version. Increase in size may be to accomodate batteries (?). No mention of flywheel hybrid ala GT3RSR....He said the car was trending to Aston Martin dimensions..........

Also mentioned that 2012 info hard to come by, tight lid on things........

I heard longer and wider. Interior center console like the pan and side windows on doors. I'm sure they bump it 20-25 hp too

I like wider... hope they don't go longer though... that'd ruin the classic look of the 911.

I think so...and the new 991 or whatever they are calling it becomes the next 996. <--you'd have to be into Porsches to know what that means

I heard the same thing - particularly the part about it being longer and having a central stack similar to the Panamera.

And I agree - certainly sounds to me as though the 997 becomes the new 993.
